Athlete performance programs
Structured mental skills work built around your competition calendar, not around a standard weekly hour.
A free 15-minute phone call to see whether we're a good fit. No cost, and no need to have it all worked out.
Program formats
- Athlete Performance Program: building the core skill set in the off-season or pre-season
- In-season support: fortnightly or as-needed contact through a competitive block
- Competition Intensive: three sessions in the fortnight before a selection event or major
- Return from injury: staged psychological rehabilitation alongside physical rehab
How the Athlete Performance Program runs
We start with a performance profile, a structured look at where your performance actually leaks, drawing on your own footage, data and recall rather than a generic questionnaire. From there we build two or three skills properly instead of eight badly, and we test them in training before we trust them in competition.
Working where you train and compete
Performance sessions can include planned work in your sporting environment (on the field, course, court or track) where appropriate and arranged in advance.
Seeing the setting can help us understand the demands you face: distractions, routines, communication and the moments when pressure builds. It also gives you an opportunity to practise agreed mental skills in training, rather than only discuss them in an office.
We might work on a pre-performance routine, resetting after an error, or bringing attention back to the next action. The aim is to make the work stick where it counts. As with any performance work, outcomes aren't guaranteed.
Purpose, fees, venue access and safety are set before any session in your environment. Personal conversations stay private, and coaches or staff are only involved with your consent. For athletes under 18, consent and safeguarding are arranged with parents first.
Working with your support team
With your consent I coordinate with coaches, strength and conditioning staff, physiotherapists and sports doctors. For adult athletes, nothing is shared without your consent. See "For young athletes" below.
For young athletes
I work with young athletes from 12 (high school age), with a parent or guardian's consent.
- Managing selection pressure and the fear of being dropped
- Handling mistakes, and the car ride home
- Balancing school, training load and a social life
- Keeping the reason they started playing
For under-18s, a parent or guardian books the free 15-minute call in their own name; the young person is welcome to join.
